Dominion Road might as well be called the street of Chinatown in Auckland because of its vast line of Chinese restaurants along this road. However there is one cafe that is not Chinese but very Kiwi. Tuihana is based in 114 Dominion Road Mt Eden is a café with a lot of heart, catered to those who want a good coffee, great service and excellent food. I highly recommend the Lamb Burger – so juicy and delicious! With their Kumara fries, it was a great lunch! A great café who want a chilled and relaxed space with good kai (Maori word for food). They also have the best website of a café I have seen so far – they have pictures of their dishes!
Great and fast service, the lovely staff were friendly and welcoming.
This café is bit pricey, its away from all the other eateries. Your mains cost anywhere between 17-22 dollars.
Tuihana is all about quality food. I loved their lamb burger with the kumara chip – appropriately called ‘Mary had a little Lamb’, I love cafes at have a sense of humour. The Lamb burger was juicy, fresh and thick. The bun looked made in house and its texture was slightly chewy. The Kumara chips served in a little basket were crunchy and flavoursome! I do wish that there was slightly more in terms of quantity but I was full for quite awhile!
