Herne Bay hides a small vegetarian and vegan Japanese restaurant that makes the already Japanese food - even MORE healthy.
Janken out from the main fray of Ponsonby road is great friendly and delicious place for a catchup or romantic date.
Came here with a group of friends who liked the chilled Modern Jap ambience. The food was great however I have to say that it is a little steep compared to other Japanese restaurants. The main dishes here at at a minimum of $26 and the portions are not generous to say the least. However their friendly smiles and quick service were spot on - they even gave complimentary sushi, which was vegan but its free!
Come here if you have a very health conscious friend and you want to splurge a little on dining.
The food here is fresh, modern Japanese that caters for the extreme end of health conscious - Vegans and Vegetarians. Their main meals were an interesting twist on NZ cuisine, please see their fish and chips. The desserts were delicious but we just wish there was more!
Great service, big smiles and quick dish turn arounds.
It's extremely expensive for what it is and the taste unfortunately doesn't make up for lacklustre portions.
