Izakaya Kintaro on Fuji, it’s a mouthful to say but there’s plenty of good Japanese food to eat at this comfy and private Japanese CBD restaurant. Came here to celebrate a birthday and used a Grabone voucher that had a 9 course meal.
Judging on the meal from the 9 course set menu – this was a fantastic way to get new customers. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, amazing varieties of taste and their Teriyaki Salmon was superb – had the right amount of sweetness and saltiness to make it just right!
What I love about Izakaya Kintaro on Fuji is that it is perfect for private dining – highly recommend dining here for an intimate date. Overall a good Japanese restaurant in town that won’t break the bank.
Note: Credit card and Eftpos payment accepted however there is a credit card surcharge.
Hosted by lovely ladies in the front and the chef also greets you as you’re walking in to your seat. Great hospitality! Typical of Japanese restaurants to be greeted with the Urashaimasen! They seemed to know that the Grabone deal was happening but were more than happy to explain the dishes again to those that didn’t know what certain foods were. Great to have patient service that is happy to explain things to customers!
Because I used a Grabone voucher – this was great value at $37.50 for a 9 course meal. It was WORTH it, if they ever do another Grabone deal again – I will definitely buy it again. However the rest of the menu standard pricing was normal for a Japanese restaurant.
I have yet to explore Japanese restaurants in the CBD, there are plenty out there all fighting for your hard earned money. Judging only on their set menu, Izakaya Kintaro on Fuji delivered on all fronts in terms of quantity and quality. The fresh used was fresh and the appetisers were presented beautifully. The only thing that was a let down was their tempura which had too much batter. Other than that – it is definitely worth dining here just for the private setting and the Teriyaki Salmon. The Teriyaki Salmon was just cooked perfectly, nice fatty and the had the right amount of umami.
