The Polite Unhinged Summary:
Henderson has many Japanese establishments due to a strong migrant Japanese community that resides there. Asuka is situated just a small walk from the Westfield Henderson shopping complex and has a nice simple décor inside. Run by a Korean family, they have been in the business for a long time. Their Lunch Box bentos are great value and a very filling and tasty. We had the fish and Beef bento which were tasty and fresh!
Food took a while but they served us the Miso soup first. Food took a good 35 minutes before it came.
Very decent prices for big portions of food.
The menu is typical Japanese. We ordered the Fish and Beef Bento Lunch boxes which didn’t look like they were going to be a lot but we were stuffed by the end of it. Served with Miso, Sushi, Rice and Salad – it was a nice lunch. The Beef was cooked nicely, it was Korean style so it had the thin Beef texture. The Fish was fresh, lightly battered and covered in sauce. The only drawback is that the fish, I suspect was from the sauce was loaded with MSG – had the itchy throat syndrome afterwards! Next time will order the sashimi bento box instead!
